Scouts help feed indigent residents

RITZVILLE – Local scouts are helping feed local residents while also educating them about the danger of carbon-monoxide poisoning.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, Boy Scout Troop No. 888 and Cub Scout Pack No. 73 had a canned-food drive benefiting the local food bank.

They also helped raise money for the Gritman Senior Center, which offers discounted meals and other services to local senior citizens.

At the same time, they partnered with Avista to help educate the public about the dangers of carbon-monoxide poisoning. The four-hour event took place in the Akin’s Fresh Market parking lot from 10...
