BELLINGHAM – Several Free Press Publishing employees were honored Saturday, Oct. 8, for their work in the newspaper industry during the Washington Newspaper Publishers Association convention.

John Myers won first place in the use of small space for his graphic design work for Wild Bill’s Longbar advertising.

Former reporter Matthew O. Stephens received a first-place portrait photography award and a second for general news photography. Staffer TeAire Baier took second place in portrait photography. Publisher Roger Harnack received a second-place award for breaking news photography as well as second- and third-place awards for photography at the Ritzville Rodeo.

Free Press Publishing also received a third-place award for coverage of the state 1/2B basketball tournament, with most of the content being photos taken by Olivia Harnack.
