Broncos runners compete in Spangle

SPANGLE – The Broncos cross country team competed in the North and South All-League Meet on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at Liberty High School.

Junior Caleb Heater finished 47th overall for the Broncos. He competed the 5,000-meter race in 20:37.06.

Sophomore teammate Cameron Christianson finished the race 91st, with a time of 28:54.32.

St. George’s won the team title with 64 points, followed by Jenkins with 78 and Davenport 97.

The Broncos did not have enough runners for a team score.

In the girls division, only Maeve Korthuis competed for the Broncos.

The freshman girl finished the 5,000-meter race 41st overall with a time of 29:11.11.

St. Georges won the girls team title with 20 points.

Garfield-Palouse was second with 36 and Northwest Christian (Colbert) third with 85. Colfax was fourth with 86.

No other girls teams had enough runners to be scored as a team.

In the middle school events, seventh-grader Reagan Korthuis was 19th overall in the girls 1.5-mile race with a time of 12:19.47.

For middle school boys, sixth-grader Bryce Fannin was 25th overall with a time of 10:17.83.

Sixth-grade teammates Isaiah Busby and Graham Christianson finished 70th and 78th, respectively, with times of 12:28.14 and 13:35.10.
