Bergman awaiting extradition from Pennsylvania

SPRAGUE – The U.S. Marshal Service has apprehended a man wanted in connection with the death of his wife.
Charles Bergman, 54, of Moses Lake, was arrested Friday night, Sept. 23, by U.S. Marshals in New Stanton, Penn., after a nationwide search.
As of press time, he was awaiting extradition back to Washington state.
Details of his arrest were not immediately available.
Once extradited, Bergman is facing a probable charge of first-degree murder in Lincoln County for allegedly killing his 53-year-old wife, Theresa Bergman of Moses Lake, and dumping her body in a wheat field in rural Lincoln County between Sprague and Edwall.
Theresa Bergman's body was found shortly after noon Thursday, Sept. 22, by a farmer about 10-12 miles northwest of Sprague, records show. The following day a nationwide warrant was issued for Charles Bergman.
The couple was last seen together near Spokane International Airport on Sunday, Sept. 18, records show. Charles Bergman was allegedly picking up his wife after she landed at the airport.
Grant County authorities said they were reported missing by family members when they didn't return home.
Details of the alleged homicide have yet to be released.
