County Sheriff's Posse volunteers recognized

RITZVILLE – Two county residents were recognized Wednesday, Aug. 3, for their volunteer work with the Adams County Sheriff's Posse.

During the posse's monthly meeting, Sheriff Dale Wagner recognized Anthony Daily and Ray McMurray. He presented both with Adams County Sheriff's Office belt buckles.

"Please join me in thanking these volunteers for all they do," the sheriff said. "Well-deserved."

According to the sheriff, Daily "always answers the call and does whatever, and whenever he can to assist.

"He is one of our main go to guys.

McMurray has been a part of the posse for 25 years, Wagner said..

"Ray has decided to retire," the sheriff said. "We thank him for his dedicated service. We wish him the best in his endeavors."

In addition to Daily and McMurray, Wagner said all posse members contribute to the safety of Adams County.

"This group of dedicated volunteers, assist the Sheriff's Office in so many ways including, crime scene preservation, search and rescue, traffic control, parades and many other applications," he said. "This group is dedicated to serving our community."
