TACOMA – A Ritzville man accused of trying to meet young girls for sex acts is being held on $1 million bail in the Pierce County Jail.

Eugene "Gene" Roy Kliewer, 79, of Ritzville, was extradited from the Adams County Jail to Pierce County on Monday, June 20.

During a Pierce County Superior Court hearing Tuesday, June 21, he was charged with one count of first-degree attempted child rape, three counts of second-degree attempted child rape and four counts of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes, jail records show.
