Lind Alumni Banquet reunion set for May 7

LIND – The annual Lind Alumni Banquet will take place Saturday, May 7, in the Lind-Ritzville Middle School gymnasium, formerly Lind High School.

Photos of the honored classes will be taken at 5:30 p.m., followed by festivities beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Because the banquet was canceled the last two years, there will be three honored classes per decade:

• 60-year classes – 1960, 1961 and 1962

• 50-year classes – 1970, 1971 and 1972

• 40-year classes – 1980, 1981 and 1982,

• 30-year classes – 1990, 1991 and 1992,

• 20-year classes – 2000, 2001 and 2002

• 10 year classes – 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Individuals in the honored classes interested in purchasing photos are asked to bring payment and completed order forms. The order forms will be available at the banquet, and questions can be directed to The Journal by calling [email protected], or by calling 509-659-1020 during the work day on Tuesdays or Thursdays.

The banquet and dinner begin at 6:30 p.m. with a meal provided by Rollin’ Coal Barbecue.

The master of ceremonies is Lind High School graduate Keith Deaton, from the Class of 1961.

Reid Weaver, Class of 1979, will be the guest speaker and will announce the Jackson David Weaver Scholarship he established in memory of his son.

Former Lind graduate, Emmy Bouwman Erickson, Class of 2010, will lead the invocation.

The Virginia Moorman Moore scholarship, the Lind Alumni scholarship and the Jackson David Weaver scholarship will be presented during the banquet to Class of 2022 graduating seniors.
