Two injured in a crash near Odessa

ODESSA – A driver and teenage passenger were injured in an early morning rollover crash, February 5, on State Route 21 a half mile south of Odessa.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Mark A Haase (23) of Odessa was driving a 1987 Nissan pickup southbound on highway 21 climbing a winding hill, just after midnight, when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled down an embankment, coming to rest in a ditch. Haase was injured in the crash and transported to Lincoln Hospital in Davenport.

According to the police report, drugs or alcohol were involved in the crash, and Haase was charged with driving under the influence. Also injured in the crash is a 16 year-old juvenile male, also from Odessa, who was transported to Memorial Healthcare Center in Odessa.

It is unknown if either occupant of the vehicle were wearing seatbelts. The Nissan pickup is a total loss and was removed from the scene by Ritzville Towing.
