SPOKANE VALLEY – Lind-Ritzville/Spargue/Washtucna cross country runners competed in Plantes Ferry Park at the District 7 1B/2B Championship meet on Friday, Oct. 2
Three of the four local runners set personal record times.
In the boys race, Eli Michels placed 29th out of 96 runners, with a time of 18:14.
Caleb Heater placed 58th with a personal best time of 20:16, and Brix Curtis placed 76th with a time of 21:25, also a personal best.
In girls varsity, Maeve Korthius, an eighth-grader, placed 34th out of 42 runners with a personal best time of 27:40.
The runners head to Colfax on Saturday, Oct. 30, for the Districts 7 and 9 1B/2B Regional Championships for a chance to qualify for state.
Local runners are coached by Christina Heater.
