Larse joins Ritzville Journal's news team

RITZVILLE – Longtime resident Rod Larse has joined the newsroom of The Ritzville Adams County Journal as a reporter.

Larse, 62, was hired Aug. 4 as a part-time reporter.

"Rod's interest in providing accurate, up-to-date news coverage of Adams County will be an asset to The Journal, our readers and our advertisers," Publisher Roger Harnack said.

As a reporter within the Free Press Publishing group of community newspapers, Larse will also contribute news to the Franklin Connection website and the Odessa Record, Cheney Free Press and Whitman County Gazette newspapers, among others.

Larse is a retired information technology manager, who worked at the Adams County Courthouse for several years in the early 1990s. His career included a position at the state Department of Social and Human Services and 24 years at Spokane Falls Community College.

"I have lived in Ritzville for more than 30 years, but my occupation took me out of town on a near daily basis, Larse said. " When I retired, I knew I wanted to look for opportunities to engage with the community. This part-time position seems like a great fit."

Larse lives in Ritzville with his wife, Briana. They have two grown children.
