Lind cemetery lawn alive and well

LIND — The sprinkler system is up and running at the Lind Cemetery following installation of a new water line.

The new water line runs from 8th Street to the Southwest corner of the Lind Cemetery, and the project includes a new pump and pumphouse.

Adams County Cemetery District Commissioner Myra Horton said with the completion of the new waterline, bids went out for a new sprinkler system and electrical panel. A new sprinkler system was installed last October, to provide better water coverage for the property.

"The water was turned on, grass was planted and fertilized, and head stones have been edged by our maintenance person, Dennis Hill," Horton said. "Improvements are continuing to be made, as we work toward the restoration of our cemetery."

Horton said the cemetery district commissioners appreciated patience from the community as the bid and installation processes were completed for both projects.
