Lamont voters opposing levy request
Measure would have collected $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation

LAMONT — Voters are giving an initial thumbs down to a two-year School District levy request in the Tuesday, Feb. 9, special election.
Preliminary results show only 40.62% of voters are supporting a two-year replacement levy of $2.50 per $1,000 of assessed property valuation by a vote of 13 yes to 19 no.
The measure would have collected $130,000 next year and $132,000 in 2023. The owner of a $200,000 home here would be pay $500 each year.
The Whitman County Canvassing Board will review and certify the early results as well as any late-arriving ballots Feb. 19.
