Laws need to be followed

The law is the law, or is it? I believe that most of you have heard of someone getting a ticket or being arrested and then nothing really happened.

During my lifetime, I have seen people get by without going to jail or paying a fine.

Over the years police officers and judges have considered the facts or the person’s social standing to make those determinations. I have no problem with that unless the laws are felonies or something worse.

What we have to keep in mind is that our laws locally and nationally have been changing very fast and we now have probably too many laws. Laws are based on precedents and therefore if the courts don’t keep up we can have lawyers that find loopholes.

After eight years of President Obama’s (no harm no foul) presidency we are faced with governors and mayors challenging our new president’s rules. Arrest those felons or lose your federal funds!

I believe that we are at a crossroad. Do we take a stand and back up our President? If we don’t how do we explain it to our children and grandchildren? Please think about it!
