Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Washtucna Elementary, Junior High and High School, a source of “Pride and Spirit” to our community members.

Whether you’re a returning student, a new student to our school, or even a parent or parents who are looking for a school that will better prepare your children for the future, we all share in the excitement of a brand new school year!

Washtucna School District welcomes any and all those from Washtucna or the surrounding areas to be a part of our school!

Registration for all students will take place on the following dates: Elementary, Jr. High, High School registration dates are Tuesday, Aug. 18, 4-8 p.m. at the Washtucna High School Office and Wednesday, Aug. 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Washtucna High School Office.

The Washtucna High School is located at 730 East Booth Avenue.

Our focus this year once again will be providing each of our students with a “Personalized Education” based on a strong academic foundation, individualized attention through our small class sizes, focus on core content and life education that your children can build upon throughout their lives.

Continued focus for the upcoming year remains on our core content areas of Reading, Language Arts, Math and Science, as well as Social Studies.

The curriculum has proven to be very beneficial, as the great majority of our students have successfully passed the new state SBAC assessment.

We are very proud of our students and teachers in accomplishing this major feat!

Our exploratory classes will help your students develop their interests and skills as we provide a well-rounded educational experience for each and every child.

We continue our commitment to create an atmosphere that promotes academic excellence, trust, respect and community involvement.

It is important for your students to enjoy coming to school, for teachers and staff to enjoy their work and to feel appreciated, and for parents to feel welcome to the point of feeling as they are part of the educational process.

As we work together, jointly focusing on our school objectives, we will continue to create a nurturing and challenging environment in which all children can succeed.

I am sure that this school year, as with those prior, will bring an array of challenges for all of us. I will continue to work with all our students, staff and parents to expand upon the successes we’ve seen over the past few years.

Together we have been a community that has had many challenges but has also met these challenges successfully together.

We all look forward to an exciting, productive school year.

We invite you to come work with us as we accompany your child on his or her journey through the upcoming school year and experience their successes, struggles and learning together with us!
