Presidential conventions have changed

My goodness, I am sure that there are many seniors who remember the good old days when each state sent delegates to the Presidential Conventions to nominate their party’s candidate.

I remember this better than most seniors as I had a relative who was a delegate to the blue party’s conventions. They were chosen because of monetary donations and working hard to help get their party members elected to county and state offices. As I recall they spent a lot of time and money to acquire this prestigious honor!

The conventions usually had 3 or 4 rounds of states nominating their favorite sons which was to honor this person and feel out who the real candidate was going to be. This was only about 2 or 3 months before the November elections.

Now we are inundated with well over a year of listening to and watching the dreamers of the red party and the timid of the blue party who are waiting for Hillary to make more mistakes.

It bothers me that those of us, on the north side of 80, who have put up with this nonsense, may not even get to vote!
