Community support shines at the Easter egg hunt

The Ritzville Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary No. 2739 once again hosted the community wide Easter Egg Hunt April 12, in the city park. What an amazing event! And it is all over in the blink of an eye.

So, before I blink my eyes again and we are planning next year’s event, I wanted to take a minute and share with everyone some of the behind the scenes activities:

The Eagles Auxiliary hard boiled and dyed over 100 dozen eggs – all of them donated by local businesses.

There were toys and balls and balloons and squirt guns and hula hoops and candy and stuffed animals and baskets and even some cold hard cash – all donated by local people and businesses.

There were members of the Eagles Aerie and Auxiliary who came out early in the morning to tape off age group sections; organize the prizes and help hide all of those eggs.

As all of the children wandered around, jumping with joy over their new found Easter treasures, I couldn’t help but be thankful for all these people who donate so generously of their time, their talents and their treasures to make this all possible.

I hope everyone will remember one thing … The toys and prizes the children received were made possible for the most part by the donations of our local business community. Please, remember to thank them by shopping locally!! After all, what goes around comes around!
