ObamaCare is not beneficial

Mr. Don C. Brunell is mistaken. ObamaCare cannot be fixed. There are Democrat members of Congress who want to find a way of papering over problems until after the 2014 elections but there are few if any Democrats who want it fixed in the sense Brunell discusses in his Ritzville Journal editorial of November 7. Find a Democrat who supports Brunell and you will have found a Democrat who does not understand the mess Congress created with ObamaCare. ObamaCare cannot be made sensible.

Brunell writes: “Obamacare has some positive aspects, but they are overshadowed by a complete maze of mandates, qualifiers, rules and regulations that individuals, employers, doctors, hospitals and insurers must now navigate.”

As ObamaCare plays out, lives are being destroyed. Relationships are being forcibly broken. Whatever positive aspects Brunell imagines could not/can not make up for the damage being done to individuals and families and the medical care professions and institutions of this country. Interestingly, Brunell does not provide a single illustration of a positive aspect of the law.

President Obama is perfectly confident that he is a better judge of what is right and proper medical care for the citizens of this country. He is quite bold in making this clear. The President is sorry that we, the citizens, do not have the medical care agreements that meet his standards and he is sorry that we did not understand that our medical care agreements were inferior to the medical care plans he intends for us. He has every intention of forcing us to pay for his vision, which will provide most of us with less care at a much higher cost.

“Positive aspects” of ObamaCare will prove illusive but the destruction being wreaked by ObamaCare is real.
