National deficit remains neglected

Immigration, the deficit, gun control and jobs are definitely the hot topics that will face Congress as we plunge into 2013. We have a democratic senate that has not passed a budget in almost four years and a combined Congress that did less and spent more time in recess than any Congress since the 1940s.

We need to remember that the Senate is required by law to pass a budget each year. The two parties are pointing fingers, but we only need to look at President Obama as he is the primary Senator who eviscerated President Bush’s 2007 attempt at immigration reform. Basic common sense should tell...
