Sidewalk art a fond tribute to Wooden Nickel

A Wooden Nickel thank you, as many of you know the restaurant closed last week. I have been involved with the Wooden Nickel since we opened March 5, 2010. I have helped in many positions from antiques, jewelry, mother and finally as waitress and Ritzville’s oldest pizza delivery person.

It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to be there to help and serve all of you.

When I came downtown on Sunday morning I found the beautiful chalk painting someone had decorated on the sidewalk area in from on the restaurant. There were flowers, stars, a bursting sun and surrounding the words “We Will Miss You.” It brought me to tears. I am extremely grateful for your patronage through all of our ups and downs.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. See you around town.

Maggie Carman, Ritzville
