The power of Moms in Touch

For the last several years I have written an article each fall about an organization I belong to called Moms in Touch. In each article I gave the facts – what Moms in Touch is and when and where we meet. This year I chose to write a letter so I can express more fully the heart of Moms in Touch.

Moms in Touch is an organization that started in the 1970s when two women in California began praying together for their children. It has grown into an international ministry, but the purpose is still the same – moms praying for their children and the schools they attend. Our group here in Ritzville formed in the 1990s and has met weekly during the school year ever since.

Our group is non-denominational, having had members from several different churches over the years. We welcome moms who don’t attend any church too. Our common denominator is that we care about our children, our schools and our community, and we believe that God hears us when we pray. We pray for our own children, but also for other students, as well as teachers, staff and administrators. We pray for the school board and the athletic teams, the bus drivers and the cooks. If it has to do with the school, we pray for it! Moms in Touch moms believe that God will work in our schools and our community if we ask Him to.

We invite any mother or grandmother to come and join us. We love to support each other in the challenges of raising children and we pray for each other too. Moms in Touch meets at my house (103 W. Fourth Ave.) every Monday from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Even if you’re new to prayer, feel free to come and see what we’re about. I’m available to answer questions at 659-0387.

The Bible says, “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and the door will be opened.” We take that to heart and we are seeing God answer prayers.
