Annual ladies tournament attracts 40 golfers, visitors

The Ritzville golf ladies hosted another successful golf tournament on Monday, Aug. 15, at the Ritzville Municipal Golf Course.

A total of 40 ladies from Elk, Colbert, Colfax, Endicott, Leavenworth, Spokane, Cle Elum, Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Warden, Quincy, Chattaroy, Odessa, Ephrata, Deer Park, Nine Mile Falls, Seattle and Rathdrum, Idaho, participated in the two-person team tournament playing best ball the first nine holes and Chapman the second nine holes.

There were only two skins during the tournament with one going to Debbie Pennick and Sherry Vorderbruggen and the other to Pat Suko and Barb Trout.

Mary Own of Cle Elum and Sandy Walker of Ellensburg won the gross score portion of the tournament while Lylia Toner of Elk and Lita Karsten of Colbert took second. Third place gross score team honors went to Debbie Thaemert of Moses Lake and Mary Cox of Warden.

Pat Suko and Barb Trout took the win in the net score event. Second place net went to Velma Ulrich and Dixie Brannon of Colfax.

Terry Pritchard of Chattaroy and Patti Buck of Colbert took third. Fourth net went to Lou Greenlee and Lisa Hanson of Leavenworth.

Pennick of Colfax and Vorderbruggen of Endicott captured fifth place while Rose Krumm and Bonnie Thompson of Moses Lake were sixth.

Seventh place net went to Shanna Gallington of Odessa and Chris Autry of Ephrata. Carol Pierce and Kaye Crandall of Leavenworth were eighth.
