    LIND – Southbound U.S. Highway 395 reopened Monday afternoon, Oct. 30, after a body was discovered near Milepost 81. Authorities have identified the body as that of Nicholas A. Cooper, 31, of Lakewood. Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene two miles east of the city at about 3:41 a.m., the Washington State Patrol reported.   • Ballots due back by Tuesday

    RITZVILLE – Voters have until Tuesday, Nov. 7, to return ballots in the general election. Ballots may be returned in-person to the Adams County Auditor’s Office in the courthouse, via U.S. Mail or at a sanctioned drop box. In Ritzville, drop boxes are located at 106 W. Main St., 210 W. Broadway Ave., Suite 200 and at City Hall, 216 E. Main Ave. Another drop box is available at the Adams County Public Services Building at 425 E. Main St., Othello.
