Othello wrestler named Athlete of Week

OTHELLO — A local wrestler has been named Washington Interscholastic Activities Association Athlete of the Week for Class 2A boys for Week 16 of the 2024-25 school year.

Mason Perez, wrestling at 285 pounds, won the Tri-State tournament in Couer d’Alene on Dec. 28. Then on Jan. 4, Perez won another title, winning the Leonard Schutte Round-Up. The title helped Othello with the tournament team title, as well.

Perez is undefeated this season, having amassed 13 wins only half-way through the 2024-25 season.
