Scout Conservationists. Boy Scouts Mike Babbitt and Chris Snowden dig up a strip for setting out shrubs and trees April 21 at a conservation garden project of the local troop. The site adjoins the golf course and is across the ramp to go west on US 90. Other scouts on the job Saturday for a three-hour stint were Ron Snowden Jr., Eric Koch, Steve Knoll, Gordon and Dale Goodwater, Marty Sackmann and Doug Weber. Scouters working with them were Bob Maier and Milt Sackmann.

Saw the Soldiers
Ritzville people were fortunate to the extent that they had the privilege last Saturday of seeing with their own eyes some of Washington's real, live soldiers. Word was received about noon Saturday that the soldiers would pass through about 2 o'clock in the afternoon, and the excitement and patriotism began to raise accordingly.
Although the gentle zephyrs were traveling at about a forty-mile gait, the citizens managed to raise about every flag in town that sports a pole, numbers of small flags were nailed to walls, fences, etc., til...
