Tennis team wins matches over Reardan

Local tennis team struggles against St. George

RITZVILLE – The Broncos tennis team racked up several wins Saturday, April 15, but struggled on Wednesday, April 19.

Against Reardan on April 15, Carlie Loop, Liberty McClanathan, Destiny Phelps, Megan Rivers, Hunter Cameron, Jeffrey Christianson and Cameron Christianson all scored wins.

Loop topped Haily Fry, 6-1, 6-1; and McClanathan bested Kerstin Lundgre, 6-0, 6-4.

Phelps took three sets to top Ely Crego, dropping the first set 1-6 before roaring back to win 6-2, 10-7.

Rivers beat her opponent “Kalyn,” 6-2, 6-3.

For the boys, Cameron beat E.J. Preuchoff, 7-5, 6-4.

Jeffrey Christianson beat Dominic Board, 6-2, 7-5. And Cameron Christianson defeated Avery Harrison, 6-3, 7-4.

The only loss of the day was in doubles action, where Camron Olson and Jose Zavala fell to Board and Harrison 3-6, 4-6.

Against St. George, Loop two a two-set win, 6-2, 6-0, over Kalea Schlenker.

That was the lone win for the Broncos on April 19.

Mcclanathan won her first set, 6-2, over Sasha Kos, but lost the next two, 2-6, 9-11.

Rivers fell to Reagan Heller, 0-6, 0-6; and Cameron lost to Robert DeForest, 0-6, 2-6.

Jeffrey Christianson lost to Ralayz Zalba Monks, 1-6, 0-6. And Cameron Christianson lost to Gabin Solly, 3-6, 4-6.

In doubles, Olson and Zavala were defeated by Brady Nosbaum and Max Romoff, 3-6, 3-6.
