Lind council planned to discuss hiring employee

LIND – The Town Council was scheduled to host a special meeting Tuesday night to consider applicants for an open position.

The public meeting was scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in Town Hall, 116 ½ W. Second St.

In accordance with the law, the council planned to then move into executive session for 45 minutes to discuss applicants for employment.

The agenda didn’t include details on which position was being filled nor who the applicants are.

The law requires the council to announce who will be in attendance during the executive session and the exact time the council will reconvene.

If the council needs more time, pursuant to the law, it is required to reconvene in public, then declare a new time it will reconvene in public.

According to the agenda, the council was not going to reconvene and take action; so a decision on hiring wouldn’t be allowed until a subsequent public meeting.
