Bronco girls win one, drop three

RITZVILLE — The Lind-Ritzville/Sprague girls softball team opened its 2023 season last week with doubleheaders against the Newport Grizzlies and DeSales Catholic Fighting Irish.

The undefeated Grizzlies (2-0) swept the Broncos (1-3) on Wednesday, March 15, and the Broncos split with the Irish (1-1) on Saturday, March 18.

Individual statistics were not reported for either doubleheader.

Against Newport, the Grizzlies outscored the Broncos 10-1 in the season-opener and 18-3 in the nightcap of the doubleheader.

Against DeSales, the Broncos won the opener, 13-7, but lost the nightcap, 21-5.
