ICE agent held in Othello child-sex case

Williams to face federal charges

OTHELLO — An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer who traveled here last year for an alleged sexual encounter with a child has turned himself in to federal authorities.

Department of Homeland Security ICE Supervisory Enforcement and Removal Officer Koby Don Williams, 47, of Ellensburg, turned himself in Tuesday, March 14.

He remained in the Spokane County Jail on a U.S. Marshal’s Service hold without bail Monday.

Court records show he was indicted for attempted online enticement; an arrest warrant issued March 7 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington.

If convicted, Williams may face a penalty of 10 years to life in prison, a $250,000 fine and sex offender registration.

The case stems from an attempted July 26, 2002, child-sex sting in Othello in which Williams agreed to pay for sex with a 13-year-old girl.

Williams was arrested that day and booked into the Adams County Jail in Ritzville on charges of attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor, second-degree attempted rape of a child and communication with a child for immoral purposes, court records show.

He was released from jail July 27 on his personal recognizance, records show.
