Sandra Lee Fitch (nee Piert) passed away from this earthly realm into the arms of her Heavenly Father at the age of 79 on Nov. 28, 2022. She was born at Fort Rucker, Ala., where her father was stationed during WWII. She grew up in Prineville, Ore. and then Potlatch, ID where she met her husband, Byron Fitch. Byron and Sandra were married in 1962 and spent their first married summer on fire watch duty at Spyglass Lookout.
