A photo from 50 years ago – Winner in Spokane Danny Snowden, 9, shows the style he used in winning Punt, Pass and Kick contests. He won his age division contest in the district event at Spokane Saturday with a combined net distance of 148 feet. About 12 competed in each of six age groups. Craig Schwisow won second in the 8-year-old group. Danny will compete this Saturday at the Seattle Civic Center. Others from Ritzville who competed in Spokane were Mitch Heider, Ken Hilzer, Marty Sackmann and Bruce Reeve.

Spokane Concern Assists
The Tru Blu Biscuit Company of Spokane were good boosters during the Round-Up. They sent their decorator down and put on a display of box candies in the Ritzville Drug Co. booth, and a big bunch of their force came down for the show.
Temperatures Range High
The weather has been rather warm the past week. Sunday the thermometer touched 79, Monday 82 and Tuesday 81, which is high for this time of year. Weather continues dry. Tuesday a regular hot wind blew from the east.
