Bronco runners compete in Wenatchee

WENATCHEE – The Broncos cross country team traveled to Walla Walla Point Park on Saturday, Sept. 17, to compete in the Wenatchee Invite.

Lind-Ritzville junior Caleb Heater represented the Broncos in the boys junior-varsity junior-senior race. He finished the 5,000-meter course in 21:28, good enough for 34th-place.

In the JV freshman-sophomore event, Cameron Christianson finished 92nd. The sophomore completed the course in 24:50.00.

The Broncos did not have a boy in the varsity race.

For the girls, freshman Maeve Korthuis raced to a 60th-place finish in the girls junior-varsity race. She completed the 5,000-meter course in 29:56.

The Broncos did not have a girl entered in the varsity race.

In addition to the high school competitors, the Broncos’ Bryce Fannin competed in the 1.55 mile sixth-grade boys race.

He finished third with a time of 11:01.

Meanwhile, sixth-grade teammates Graham Christianson finished 15th in a time of 14:53 and Isaiah Busby was 18th with 17:57 in the event.

In the girls seventh-grade race, Reagan Korthuis paced the Broncos with a 15th-place finish in 12:36.

More than 30 teams competed in the cross country meet; team scores were not reported.
