Local drivers paying less than state average

RITZVILLE – Despite record high fuel prices, Adams County motorists are spending less money on gasoline and diesel than across much of the state.

This morning, GasBuddy.com reported the average price for a gallon of gasoline in Washington state at a new record level of $5.51 per gallon. That’s the fifth-highest price in the nation.

Drivers in Washington state are paying an average of 53 cents more per gallon than the rest of the country. Washington state’s fuel tax is 49.4 cents per gallon, in additional to national and other taxes.
