RALSTON – Ralston Grange No. 943 will be getting a new well thanks to funding from Innovia Foundation of Spokane.

Innovia awarded the grange $15,000 to drill a new well on its property to supply potable water, officials said.

The well must be completed no later than March 23, officials said.

According to Innovia, the funds will pay for drilling the well hole and purchasing items need to connect the well to the grange hall.

The allocation was among $1.01 million in grants the agency announced last week.

Five other organizations are receiving funds in Adams and Lincoln Counties.

The Harrington Area Chamber of Commerce will receive $6,200 to help complete the town square beautification project, officials said.

Funds will help pay to finish renovation of a historic building as a community center for the town’s 428 residents, Innovia said.

In other area grants, Innovia will allocate:

• $4,500 to pay for in-school performing arts programs offered by Columbia Basin Allied Arts in Adams and Lincoln Counties.

• $5,000 to hire an executive director for downtown development in Ritzville.

• $6,000 for after-school programs in the Almira School District in Almira.

• $8,100 for energy improvements being made by the Reardan Community Hall Association.
