LIND STATE BANK
CLOSES ITS DOORS
The Farmers State Bank at Lind was closed Monday morning and state bank examiners Fred Stevens and R.L. Gentry took charge for the liquidation of assets. The action was taken at the request of the Board of Directors.
Since it's organization, poor crops have rendered the debtors among the farmers unable to meet their obligations. With the severe depression through which the country has been passing and low prices for wheat, the bank was unable to realize on it's assets and keep in a liquid condition.

Adams County Bank Deposits Over 11 Million
Bank deposits in Adams county have soared to an all time high according to recent bank statements dated September 30th and the three banks of the county recorded deposits of $11,205, 032.35.
Reports on condition show the two Ritzville banks with combined deposits of $7,871,015.35 and the First National Bank of Lind has deposits of $3, 334, 017.00. In contrast to present deposits, 25 years ago, the banks of Adams county showed a combined deposits of $1,271, 934.10.

Fire Guts Tavern
Fire gutted Hank & Helen's Tavern, 105 N. Washington St. Tuesday morning.
An alarm was turned in at 7:50 a.m. and when firemen arrived momentarily flames already were gushing from the building's front. The fight to contain the fire in the tavern building, and keep it from burning adjoining businesses buildings was won about 8:40, said Len Folland, fire chief.
Cause of the fire was tentavely identified by late afternoon by Fire Marshall Jack Sykes, Spokane. An electric cable was punctured by a nail, said Gene Markum, tavern proprietor.

Railroad crossing repair dis cussed with officials.
An ongoing discussion with railroad officials concerning the repair of the Division street railroad crossing may be coming to an end.
In an effort to see the crossing repaired, the city has opted to seek help from several sources and Mayor Kirk Danekas informed the City Council at Tuesday night's meeting that progress is being made.
