FFA teams headed to nationals

RITZVILLE – Three teams of students from the Lind-Ritzville Future Farmers of America program are headed to Indianapolis, Ind., for the FFA National Convention on Oct. 24-29.

The Agricultural Communications Team of Sequoia Slater-Burns, Arienna Bernal, Claire Wellsandt and Hannah Towne placed in the Top 16 teams in the nation, with their media plan, during preliminary competition in August.

They will present their media plan in the semi-finals at the National Convention.

The Environment and Natural Resources Team, consisting of Raegan Snider, Taylor Galbreath, Ryan Anderson and John Stromberger placed in the Top 18 teams in nation during preliminary competition in September.

At the National Convention, they will compete on topics of wildlife identification, soils/land evaluation, waste management and GPS locations.

The Floriculture Team – Amy Anderson, Alexis Melcher, Annika Holland and Alyssa Williams – placed in the Top 20 nationally during preliminary competition in early August.

In Indianapolis, they will compete in floral arrangement, greenhouse procedures, one-on-one sales and a team activity covering 11 designs.
