Local Ritzville resident arrested - again

RITZVILLE – Local resident Brian Massy is in jail again.

Ritzville Police Chief Dave McCormick said Massy was arrested without incident by officers of the Ritzville Police Department assisted by Adams County Sheriff's deputies and WSP troopers Sunday, July 11.

Massy, 33, was booked into Adams County Jail on charges of possessing stolen property in the 3rd degree, after a theft of patio furniture from a residence on East 4th Avenue, in the late evening hours of July 11.

He was also booked on a no bail warrant issued by the Department of Corrections for probation violation.

"He was taken into custody at approximately 8:45 p.m. on East Olive Street while trying to evade and hide from law enforcement officers," McCormick said. "Sgt Cameron, Officer Gracie and Sgt Buriak served a search warrant on the residence where Massy resides with other family members, which allowed for the recovery of the stolen items. Great work by all agencies involved."

Massy was in jail the previous weekend as well, after being booked on theft and criminal trespassing charges when he was caught on camera stealing a bicycle from a residence in the 200 block of East 10th Avenue.

McCormick said it was possible Massy would have to serve 30 days on the Department of Corrections warrant for multiple parole violations.

"The Department of Corrections issued the warrant last week, but we couldn't locate him for a couple of days," McCormick said Monday morning, July 12.
