A photo from 75 years ago - "COME ON IN KIDS, THE WATER'S FINE!" above is a scene taken Monday afternoon at the Ritzville municipal swimming pool, which is now open for the summer season. Dozens of aquatic fans, ranging from grade school to teenage, enjoyed their first swim of the summer.

BOOTLEGGER IS PINCHED BY OFFICERS

Taking advantage of the crowd in town for the Horse Show a man named L.A. Boyd started what is alleged to be a joint at a room at the Adams House. The authorities getting wind of it Sheriff Rider and Deputy McCollom and Lambert made a raid and nabbed the man together with 50 quarts of whiskey. It was asserted that Boyd was selling liquor at 50 cents a drink and making change with Canadian currency.
