Farmers Fest on tap

LaCROSSE — The annual LaCrosse Farmers Festival returns this coming Saturday after a two-year hiatus.

This year’s event is slated for Saturday, June 26, with events starting at 8 a.m.

There will be snow cones, pop, water and T-shirts for sale on Main Street and in the city park as activities kickoff on what is predicted to be the hottest weekend of the year, so far.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., the annual Photo Contest will be on exhibit at The Gathering Place on Main Street.

Photos must have been taken between June 25, 2019, and this Friday, June 25. They have to be printed as a 5X7 and mounted. The winner will be announced at 1:30 p.m.

Photographers have until Friday to enter photos at the LaCrosse Bank of Eastern Washington.

Late parade registration is at the scale house at 9 a.m. Participants will line up there at 9:30 a.m.

Children can register for the parade at 10 a.m. on Third Street near the post office.

The parade starts at 10:30 a.m. and heads down Main Street.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., an Ice Age exhibit will open to the public at the renovated Rock House on Main Street.

Beginning at 11 a.m.., the Chalk Art contest takes over the football field sidewalk.

Aspiring artists can compete in four age divisions – younger than 4, ages 5-9, 10-15 and older than 16.

Homemade pie and coffee also become available in the city park at 11 a.m.

At noon, Soulstice will take the page in the park and the LaCrosse Community Club will open its BBQ pit.

The LaCrosse Quilters will host a raffle at 1 p.m., the same time the city pool opens for free swimming.

Proceeds from the quilt raffle benefit LaCrosse Community Pride. You need not be present to win.

At 1 p.m., the annual Money & Prize Scramble is set to take place in the park. Children can compete in age groups 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9.

LaCrosse Community Club will host children races at the football field, starting at 1:30 p.m.

The event wraps up with Wine & Stein, from 7-9 p.m. There is an entry fee for this event.
