Diaper delivery service available locally

RITZVILLE – A free delivery service through the PREPARES program is available locally free of charge.

PREPARES is an outreach program through the Catholic Church available to pregnant women and families with children under age five of all faiths and backgrounds.

Linda Key can deliver up to 50 diapers per month per household, along with baby wipes and children's books.

"We used to have it here at the St. Agnes church, but people wouldn't come," Key said. "Then I had it at the Food Bank, but once the pandemic hit, we were restricted from being there. So now I just deliver right to people's homes."

Key and her husband, David, deliver to about a dozen homes right now.

"But we can always do more," Key said.

The Keys received their own delivery of diapers at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Tuesday, May 25.

Lyndenn Knodel of Lind delivered several generous packages of diapers, wipes and colorful children's books. The gifts came from Knodel and fellow members of MOPS - Mothers of Preschoolers.

Knodel said MOPS is an international ministry program through the Nazarene Church, that meets monthly for support and socialization.

Knodel said the local chapter, held at the Ritzville Nazarene Church, is made up of ladies from Washtucna, Lind, Ritzville, LaCrosse and Sprague.

"We are done for the year, but will start up again in September," Knodel said. Anyone with questions can reach the group on Facebook under Ritzville MOPS.
