Public Works defines highway safety

Adams County recognized by State DOT for excellent work

RITZVILLE – Public Works Director Todd O'Brien and county engineer Scott Yaeger presented Adams County Commissioners the top five priorities in their Highway Safety Improvement Program last week.

Working with data from the County Road Administration Board, improvements to county roads were prioritized based on collision data, in line with the state's Target Zero plan.

There were 904 reportable collisions in Adams County between 2009-2019, with nine fatalities on county roads. The data excludes state highways and city streets. There were 271 collisions with injuries, O'Brien reported. Se...
