Ritzville WINS
HONORS IN COUNTY SCHOOL MEET
Ritzville schools won first place in the scholastic work at the county meet held in Washtucna last Saturday, but were second in the athletic events. Owing to divergencies in computing points it is difficult to tell what school won the meet as a whole. Lind schools were second in the scholastic events and third in the track and field events. Other points were won by other districts in the county. The day was a splendid one for the meet and there was a big crowd in attendance.

Plagers Win Dialing $'s
TV Prize
A Ritzville couple in their 70's are $625 richer as the result of alert television viewing over a four-year period. Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Plager, 302 W. Ninth Ave, won the "Dialing for Dollars" event, awarded at noon Tuesday by KXLY-TV, Spokane. Rudolph, seated by the television set, leaped to his feet (though he'll be 80 in July) when he heard the announcer say he'd be calling 659-1477 in Eastern Washington. Mrs. Plager only two minutes before had gone into the bedroom to lie down a few minutes. She usually listens for the dollars announcement at 1 o'clock, and had just thought to herself, "It'll probably be someone from Montana this time."
