April 23

Deputies were dispatched to an animal problem call on the 600 block of South Saddle Road in Othello. Complainant informed deputies of a pack of dogs that attacked complainant's dog hours prior.

Deputies were dispatched the Hatton-Coulee rest area on Highway 26 in Lind for a welfare check call. The complainant advised they have not heard from an employee and the employee had a history of medical issues.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of South Anson Road in Othello to an animal problem call. Deputies located a dog that attacked a chicken, and advised the responsible the dog was deemed dangerous and to secure it to their property.

While deputies were on scene of another incident at the 1000 block of East 2nd Street in Lind the complainant wanted to report a theft of catalytic converters which happened on the property. Investigation is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to a possible burglary in progress near the 1300 block of North Deal Road in Ritzville. The complainant stated there were subjects near his residence. Deputies determined the subjects had gone for a walk after driving and did not enter the complainant's property.

Deputies responded to an alarm call on the 2500 blockof South Highway 24 in Othello. It was determined the location was in Franklin County.

Complainant advised of a trespassing in progress at Jake's Texaco in the 1500 block of West 1st Avenue in Ritzville. The suspects were parked behind the Texaco refusing to leave.

Complainant from the 1100 block of North McCall Road in Ritzville reported receiving what he believed to be a fraudulent letter in the mail from Canada.

Complainant advised of a broken-down vehicle on East Danekas Road in Ritzville. Deputies contacted the owner of the vehicle walking back to the vehicle, who advised he had assistance coming to tow the vehicle.

Deputies observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of West Blueberry Flats Lane and South Atkinson Road in Othello. Deputies contacted the vehicle and subjects inside. The stop was documented as the subjects spoke about attempting to scrap metal the following day.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of West Bench Road for a reported 911 hang-up. It was reported a female was running away from a male and screaming. Deputies, with the assistance of Othello Police Department, officers located the subjects and investigated the incident. The subjects were released and advised if they continued their behavior, they would be booked for disoroaderly conduct.

April 24

Deputies responded to a report of cattle on the roadway near the intersection of West Hatton Road and South HWY 17 in Othello. Deputies and the responsible were able to herd the cattle away from the roadway with assistance from multiple subjects passing by.

Complainant advised of ongoing issues with graffiti on the 2200 block of West Highway 26. Complainant advised of a witness and knowing who the suspect was. Deputies obtained images from a camera on scene. Investigation is ongoing.

Complainant advised of a traffic accident at the intersection of South Highway 17 and West Hampton Road in Othello. WSP conducted the investigation and deputies cleared when their assistance was no longer needed.

Deputies responded to 100 block of South Steele Road in Othello for a reported animal problem.

Deputies responded to the 800 block of South Hummingbird Drive for a reported alarm.

Complainant advised of suspicious vehicles parked near on old barn at West Griffith Road and North Batum Road in Ritzville. Deputies contacted the subjects on scene, who had recently purchased the property and were off loading equipment.

Deputies observed a vehicle illegally parked on the south end of Taggares Park in the 600 block of South Seguro Lane in Othello. The registered owner was contacted and advised to remove the vehicle or it would be towed.

Deputies contacted a suspicious vehicle at the scenic overlook on West McManamon Road in Othello. The subject was advised to leave the area as it was closed after dark. The driver contacted a licensed driver to take custody of the vehicle as the subject was not licensed.

Deputies responded to the 2200 block of West Rainier Road in Othello for a reported noise complaint.

April 25

Deputies observed an abandoned vehicle in the area of West Muse Road and South Johnson Road in Othello. Follow-up will be conducted to locate the owner as the trailer did not have a registered owner. Deputies conducted follow up and trailer is still on scene. Deputies contacted residents on Muse Road who advised the trailer does not belong to them.

Deputies responded to the 2000 block of West Bench Road in Othello for a reported noise complaint. Deputies arrived and contacted the business owner who was selling liquor during restricted hours. The event was shut down and report forwarded to the liquor control board.

Deputies observed a vehicle driving at very low speeds and with wheels off the roadway on East Main Street near South Highway 17 in Othello. The driver was contacted and suspicion for a DUI investigation was found. The driver declined sobriety tests and became uncooperative. The driver was detained and transported to the substation for testing. The driver was later released after no signs of intoxication were observed.

Deputies observed a vehicle driving on the opposite side of the roadway and with wheels off the roadway on the 2600 block of South Broadway Avenue in Othello. A traffic stop was initiated and the vehicle did not pull over. The vehicle eventually pulled over on West Highway 26 near South 1st Ave. Margarito Ibarra-Lopez of Othello, 23, was arrested and booked into jail for suspicion of driving under the influence and failing to obey police officer.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1400 block of North Klein Road in Ritzville for a reported suspicious person who was standing outside of his vehicle. Neighbors attempted to speak to the subject who did not make sense. Subject advised he was en route to the Seattle area and stopped to take a break. The subject continued on his journey.

April 26

Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of South Thacker Road in Othello for a reported suspicious vehicle. Luis Garza from Othello, 34, was arrested for suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm second degree.

Deputies were dispatched to a commercial burglary alarm at the 1500 block of West Lee Road in Othello. Deputies arrived on scene and located multiple employees inside the building. Deputies cleared the area where the alarm had been activated and were unable to locate anyone who did not belong.

Deputies were dispatched to an animal problem near the 800 block of South Steele Road in Othello. Deputies contacted the responsible party and they advised they would be en route to gather the cattle.

Deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of West May Avenue in Washtucna for a citizen assist call. Complainant requested the sheriff’s office make the city workers let her know when they were at her property because of her dogs. Complainant was advised to work the issue out with the city and advise them of her belief the dogs may bite them.

Deputies responded to a non-injury traffic collision reported at the 600 block of South Danielle Road in Othello. The collision was determined to be a vehicle versus mailbox and fence.

Complainant reported a vehicle stopped on the roadway, occupied by a male, on East Rosenoff Road just west of Ritzville.

False alarm on the 100 block of West South First Street in Lind.

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of South Taylor Road and South Eagle Road to a traffic collision. Deputies found a driver had mistakenly accelerated in reverse through a fence. No injuries were reported.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation on the 2200 block of West Highway 26 and South Taylor Road in Othello. The driver was found to be driving with a suspended license. Hunter J. Klindworth of Moses Lake, 21, was arrested, cited, and released from the scene for the driving offense. A licensed driver later arrived on scene and gave a ride to the driver and passenger.

April 27

Dispatch advised of a semi versus vehicle collision on North Highway 395 near milepost 92 in Ritzville. Deputies responded along with WSP, and cleared after assistance was no longer needed.

Deputies were dispatched to the 00 blcok of South Van Marter Avenue in Lind for a reported abandoned vehicle. The complainant advised of renters leaving a vehicle behind. Complainant was advised he could have the vehicle removed at his expense, and said he would do that.

Deputies were dispatched to the 1100 block of North Marcellus Road and East Urquhart Road in Ritzville for a report of a llama in the area. Deputies located the llama lying alongside the road and attempted to contact the owner.

False alarm call at the 600 block of South Saddle Road in Othello.

Deputies were dispatched to an abandoned vehicle call at the 300 block of South Reynolds Road in Othello. The complainant advised a previous tenant had left an abandoned car at their new residence. Deputies arrived on scene and completed a bulk vehicle form.

Deputies discovered an unreported vehicle collision in the area of Highway 395 at milepost 91 in Ritzville. The vehicle was later contacted in Ritzville by RPD and the matter was turned over to the WSP for handling.

Complainant reported loud music in the 2100 block of West May Street in Othello.

Deputies responded to a suspicious call at the 2100 block of West May Street in Othello. Gun shots were heard in the area.

While responding to a call for service on the 2100 block of West May Street in Othello, deputies observed two subjects in dark clothing, one was wearing a facemask and carrying a backpack. The subjects were observed near multiple vehicles and quickly attempted to avoid contact with deputies by going onto a subject's property. The subjects contacted the property owner and then left the location. Deputies spoke with the property owner who advised she did not know who the subjects were, but believed they might be friends of a family member.

April 28

Deputies observed a vehicle at Taggares Park in the 600 block of South Taylor Road in Othello during hours of darkness. Deputies contacted a male who was sleeping in the vehicle. Subject was advised the park was closed after hours of darkness.

False alarm at the 1800 block of North Seivers Road in Ritzville.

Ritzville Police Department requested deputy assistance with a fight in progress near the 400 BLOCK of East Birch Avenue. Deputies arrived on scene and assisted Ritzville PD with their investigation until they were no longer needed.

Deputies were dispatched to a suspicious call at the 1200 block of North Deal Road in Ritzville. The complainant advised he observed two vehicles pull into a nearby property he did not recognize.

Deputies assisted Ritzville PD with clearing an unsecured residence at the 400 block of East Cherry Avenue.

Deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of North Plager Road in Ritzville for a reported fraud call. Complainant will block the number.

Deputies responded to the 2200 block of West Rainier Road in Othello for a reported suspicious person. Deputies arrived and contacted Shavanna Shantel Rodriguez, 26, of Othello. Rodriguez was non-complaint and would not follow directions to leave the property, as she was trespassing. Rodriguez was taken into custody after she attempted to assault a deputy and was pepper sprayed. Rodriguez was booked into the Adams County Jail for suspicion of attempted assault in the 3rd degree. She was trespassed from the property she was on.

Deputies were dispatched to the 2200 block of West Cunningham Road in Othello for the report of a burglary alarm that had been triggered. Deputies located an unsecured door and cleared the building, no one was located inside and nothing appeared disturbed.

April 29

Deputies were dispatched to I-90 at milepost 213in Ritzville for a reported box truck in the roadway. Truck broke down and they had help en route

Deputies responded to the 800 block of South Garza Road in Othello for a reported semi-tractor trailer on fire. No subjects were observed in the area and the tractor trailer was fully engulfed upon arrival. Fire crews arrived and extinguished the fire. Fire crews took over the fire investigation.

Deputies were dispatched to an animal problem at the 1200 block of North Marcellus Road in Ritzville .

Complainant advised of cows in the roadway at West Bench Road and Greenhead Lane in Othello.

Complainant advised of an uncontrolled burn at the 2700 block of West Bench Road and South Obrian Road in Othello. Deputies responded and observed multiple power poles on fire, power lines down, and an unoccupied residence on fire. Investigation is ongoing.

Deputies were dispatched to a welfare check near North St. Clair Avenue in Lind.

Deputies were dispatched to an abandoned vehicle near the 1700 block of East Danekas Road and North Sage Road in Ritzville. Deputies contacted the registered owner who advised he had sold the vehicle, however, could not provide contact information for the new owner.

Deputies were dispatched to West Highway 26, Hatton-Coulee Rest Area in Lind, for a report of a missing person last seen at that location by cellular device. Complainant updated the subject had turned in her rental car in Montana and nothing further was needed as he would contact appropriate authorities in Montana.

Deputies were dispatched to the 600 block of South Johnston Lane in Othello for a citizen assist call in reference to a person possibly suffering from mental health issues. Deputies transported the subject to the hospital where they later spoke with a mental health professional.
