RITZVILLE - School district transportation supervisor Lynn Sackmann was recognized for going "Above and Beyond" at the April 28 school board meeting.
"In an extremely challenging year of transportation, Lynn continues performing his duties admirably. He has repeatedly problem-solved with significant flexibility and creativity while distinguishing himself with the persistence of a true professional. Whether it's a last-minute request or a ruined, well-conceived plan, again and again Lynn rises to the occasion and makes something work," Superintendent Don Vanderholm said. "On behalf of the entire Lind-Ritzville Cooperative Family, we express sincere appreciation for Lynn's distinguished efforts to serve students and families by truly going Above and Beyond."
Athletic Director Greg Whitmore also pointed out Sackmann's going the distance in challenging times.
"Our transportation system logistics, between the academic cooperative and the athletic combine, are probably the most complicated in the state," Whitmore said. "It is unbelievable what he does. We could not make this happen - the logistics of the bus routes with picking up kids in Harrington and Sprague - without him. He does an unbelievable job. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about transportation for our sports and athletic events, because he handles it."
