Tennis team plays Reardan, Wilbur/Creston and Harrington

RITZVILLE – The Broncos hosted the Reardan Indians in the rain Saturday, April 24.

"We played pro-sets of eight, due to the inclement weather," Head Coach Janna Gingrich said.

In Girls' No. 1 Singles, Amy Anderson won a match against Reardan's Bailey Christenson 8-0.

Alexis Melcher beat Reardan's Hailey Fry in No. 2 Girls' Singles, 8-1.

In Boys' No. 1 Singles, Hunter Cameron played Reardan's Trevan Fry and lost 7-9.

Serina Block of Sprague did not attend the match.

Earlier in the week, the Broncos traveled to Creston for a match against Wilbur/Creston.

Anderson played Sydney Schmierer in No. 1 Singles and lost 2-6, 2-6.

In No. 1 Boys' Singles, Cameron played Brody Corrigan and won 1-6, 3-6.

Block and Melcher played No. 1 Girls' Doubles against Haileigh Peone and Kandace Leith, winning 0-6, 0-6.

In Harrington April 17, the Panthers had no boys and only two girls doubles. Anderson and Block played Harrington's Kaydence Brown and Allie Crawford with Lind-Ritzville-Sprague winning 6-1, 6-0.

For Mixed Doubles, Melcher and Cameron played Panthers Sammi Crawford and Annika Walters in an exhibition match with the Bronco winning 6-0, 6-1.

The Broncos were scheduled to host Davenport Tuesday, April 27, and travel to Spokane for a match against St. George's May 1.
