Chamber announces upcoming events in May

RITZVILLE – Chamber of Commerce members announced the Visitors' Center will re-open to travelers, with the appointment of Katelin Davidson to serve as the Chamber's Tourism/Promotions Director.
The Visitors' Center, located in City Hall, will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1-4 p.m.
"Access is still limited, and visitors must come through the front door at this time, until the back deck is complete and safely accessible," Davidson said.
The Chamber will be hosting Ritzville's first Pop Up Shop vendor fair May 29-30 in Ritzville City Park. The event, held in coordination with Art in the Park, is open to businesses or individuals who want to have a temporary booth to sell or promote their product. Anyone interested in being a vendor at the event can email the chamber at [email protected] for a copy of the vendor letter and liability form.
The Spring Fest promotions have been set on hold for another year, following the cancellation of many local events. Events still occurring in the upcoming month include the Wheat Land Communities' Fair Wampum fundraiser May 1, from 4:30-11 p.m. Rollin' Coal BBQ will be serving BBQ, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. A Fiber Fest will be held May 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Knuth Building on the Wheat Land Communities' Fairgrounds. Fiber artists are encouraged to bring fiber to share or work on, with COVID-19 guidelines in place. A $10 registration fee includes a cinnamon roll breakfast, and lunch. Wheatland Jackpot Show, the annual youth livestock show held on the Wheat Land Communities' Fairgrounds, will take place May 22 starting at 10 a.m.. Entry forms are available on the Wheatland Jackpot Facebook page. Entries are currently limited to prospect steers and heifers.
Godzilla vs. Kong will be playing at the recently re-opened Ritz Theatre May 28-30.
Both the annual Art in the Park and the first-ever Pop Up Shop are scheduled to take place in the Ritzville Park May 29-30. Anyone interested in being an Art in the Park vendor is asked to contact Karen at 509 999 8941 or email her at [email protected].
A Memorial Ceremony sponsored by the VFW is scheduled for May 31 in the Ritzville Cemetery, starting at 11 a.m.
Chamber of Commerce meetings are held the third Monday of the month, at 6 p.m., and the public is invited to attend. Email the Chamber for the meeting link.
