Distracted driver rolls vehicle off Highway 261

This vehicle rolled off Highway 261 near Herman Road Monday morning, coming to rest in a wheat field.

RALSTON – A vehicle traveling north on Highway 261, south of Ralston near Herman Road, rolled and came to rest in a wheat field Monday morning, around 8 a.m.

The driver, a 32-year-old woman from Spokane, was not injured, and no one else was involved in the collision.

Washington State Patrol Trooper Crosby said the woman reported being distracted, and looking up to discover she was going off the road.

"She didn't say she was falling asleep, or that she was on her cell phone, so it's hard to tell what happened. She just said she got distracted," Crosby said. "She left the roadway to the rig...
