OLYMPIA – A bill that would create an expensive new low-carbon fuel standard mandate in Washington will go before the Senate after passing the House of Representatives Saturday, Feb. 27.
The house debated for five hours before the bill was passed 52-46, with all Republicans voting no.
House Bill 1091, "Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the carbon intensity of transportation fuel" would require refineries to reduce the carbon content of their fuel, or buy credits.
