Boy dies after being shot by father

OTHELLO – A 4-year-old boy died Saturday afternoon, Feb. 27, after being shot in the head by his father.

Felipe Tapia-Perez, 27, is being held in Adams County Jail faceing a possible charge of second-degree manslaughter, alien in possession of firearm and possession of a stolen firearm.

According to court documents, Tapia-Perez drove to the 335 E. Hamlet St. home of his “ex”, Perla J. Arteaga-Ochoa, to pick up his three children for the weekend.

He was sitting in a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo on the side of the road, waiting for the children to come out of the house, court documents show...
