Athletic Director announces rules for spectators at school events

The Broncos play their first football game at home against Chewelah Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.

RITZVILLE - Lind-Ritzville School District Greg Whitmore announced superintendents from the district continue to meet to review and set guidelines for the safe implementation of athletic competitions while also trying to avoid any setbacks in current learning models. Whitmore said for now, the league has decided to limit spectators to fans of the home school district and parents of opposing/visiting Senior (Gr. 12) student athletes only. For middle school events, no visiting spectators will be allowed for now.

Whitmore said superintendents will be meeting on a regular basis to review rules and guidelines regarding spectators at school athletic events. He said changes may be made as necessary to help ensure the health and safety of student athletes, coaches, parents and fans.

Here are the guidelines for the athletic events Lind-Ritzville School District will be hosting in next few days:

Friday Night, Feb. 26 - Home Football vs Chewelah

Only 2 guests per athlete/cheerleader will be admitted.

Visiting teams' seniors are allowed.

We can have a maximum of 200 people in the stadium including players, coaches, cheerleaders, officials and spectators.

All guests must be on a pass list and must sign in at the gate.

All spectators must be wearing a MASK at all times and practice social distancing (unless in the same household).while attending the event.

No admission fee will be charged.

Saturday, Feb. 27 - Home Volleyball vs NWC

Only 2 guests per athlete/cheerleader will be admitted.

Visiting teams' seniors are allowed to attend

All guests must be on a pass list and must sign in at the gate.

All spectators must be wearing a MASK at all times and practice social distancing (unless in the same household).while attending the event.

No admission fee will be charged.

Monday, March 1 - MS Volleyball at Lind

Only 2 guests per home athlete will be allowed to attend.

No visiting spectators are admitted for MS VB games

All guests must be on a pass list and must sign in at the entrance.

All spectators must be wearing a MASK at all times and practice social distancing (unless in the same household).while attending the event.
