BIG PARTY AT

WELLER HOME

A big party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Will Weller near Ralston last Friday night. There were about 70 people present but the spacious and beautiful home of the Wellers was able to accommodate the guests nicely. In the fore part of the evening the men folks enjoyed pinochle, and later the most of the company turned to dancing which was accommodated on the second floor. At midnight a big luncheon was served, after which the pleasures of the evening were resumed till an early morning hour.

Miss Ahern Among State’s Top Young Homemakers

Shannon Ahern is among 25 top winners in Washington state named Betty Crocker Homemakers of Tomorrow. Her original test has been separated from over 10,000 in this state, for judging again. Mrs. Clarice Schorzman, Ritzville High School home economics instructor, said the Homemaker of Tomorrow test covers questions broader than technical knowledge of cooking and sewing. A full spectrum of knowledge and attitudes is embraced. These include community attitudes and participation in community organizations, citizenship, and homemaking in the broader sense of child training and home life.
